Air Pop (EPS)

Air Pop (EPS)

EPS is selected for parts which need to have high-energy absorption capability, light weight as well as good thermal insulation.
Expanded polystyrene (EPS) is a particle foam based on polystyrene which is delivered with a foaming agent. EPS, better known as styrofoam/Airpop, consists of 98% air and 2% polystyrene.
Despite the low material expenditure, EPS parts guarantee very high elasticity and stability. Mainly it is used in the building sector as thermal and sound insulation. Also in the packaging industry, EPS parts are used as shock impact protection and insulation boxes.

Advantages of the material:

  • high pressure resistance
  • high shock absorption
  • fully recyclable
  • structural strength
  • suitable for food packaging
  • resistant to moisture
  • durability, long working life
